Electro-Voice RE20 Variable-D Dynamic Cardioid Broadcast Announcer Microphone
The RE20 from Electro-Voice is a professional-grade dynamic cardioid mic, designed for studio, broadcast and sound-reinforcement use. Its wide frequency response and excellent transient response make it comparable to high-end condenser mics. An integrated "bass tilt down" switch corrects spectrum balance for long-range use or when bass attenuation is required.
The RE20 is a true cardioid mic with optimal sound rejection at 180º off axis. Its frequency response remains nearly constant regardless of the angle of the sound source, avoiding off-axis coloration. A filter covers each acoustic opening, allowing for close talking without "P-pops" or sibilance. Its impressive performance is thanks to the Acoustalloy diaphragm and low-mass aluminum voice coil. It also stands up to high humidity and heat, plus features a steel housing and humbucking coil for resistance to magnetically-induced noise.
